“In the Upper Volga region, over the past seven years, the volume of road works on regional and municipal highways has more than quadrupled. This year, repair works are planned to cover around 440 kilometers of regional and intermunicipal roads and 197 kilometers of the local network,” Igor Rudenya told a recent regional government meeting when discussing plans for a road campaign.
In total, in 2023, the road works plan on the regional network included 23 objects of social importance, 10 major infrastructure, 9 tourist and 7 investment objects, as well as three roads of the backbone network.
In March, preparatory work was carried out at the current year’s repair facilities. Contractors cleared the right of way of trees and bushes, delivered the necessary building materials.
From mid-April, the active phase of the work began. At several sites, the milling of the existing asphalt concrete pavement has started.
So, the section of the Tver – Bezhetsk – Vesyegonsk – Ustyuzhna road in front of Bezhetsk has already been completely crushed. Here, LLC Tekhnostroy began the construction of a base course from a mixture of asphalt granular concrete. Milling is also carried out on the Sonkovo-Koy, Rzhev-Leontyevo, Vydropuzhsk-Spirovo roads.
The implementation of projects under the Targeted Investment Program of the Tver region (AIP) continues. In April, a contract was signed for the reconstruction of the Bezhetskoye highway. The 2.37 km section will be widened to four lanes. Geodetic works have started on the site.
