The head of the Crimean parliament called the transfer of the peninsula to the Ukrainian SSR illegitimate

The head of the Crimean parliament, Konstantinov, called the transfer of the peninsula to the Ukrainian SSR in 1954 illegitimate.

The head of the Crimean parliament, Vladimir Konstantinov, deemed the decision to transfer Crimea to the Ukrainian SSR from the RSFSR in 1954 illegitimate, advocating its abolition. According to him, in order to settle this issue, a legal review was carried out.

Konstantinov is convinced that in “the history of the process of flagrant injustice and legal nihilism”, launched in 1954, it is necessary to put a “bold point”. He noted that in political terms this was done in 2014, and in legal terms it needs to be done in the near future.

Previously, a similar proposal was made by State Duma deputy Konstantin Zatulin, whom the head of the Crimean parliament called “a trusted old friend of Crimea”, who for many years dealt with the issue of eligibility for transfer from the peninsula to Ukraine. RSS. Konstantinov stressed that the parliamentarian has a powerful legal basis, which proves the “insignificance” of the acts by which he was framed.

He added that it is not so important who initiates the process, but Konstantinov intends to join forces with both MP Zatulin and all allies “in this noble cause” in order to lead it to its logical conclusion.
