The Russian Foreign Ministry has warned Finland against retaliating against the seizure of Russian real estate, reports RIA Novosti.
It is specified that the service of judicial officers of Finland imposed in April a temporary ban on actions against the land administered by the Russian Center for Science and Culture, the office building located there and several apartments in Helsinki. Such a step is explained by the intention to study the question of whether these objects are likely to be arrested in accordance with the anti-Russian sanctions.
The Russian Embassy sent a note to the Finnish Foreign Ministry, after which the ban on actions against the RCSC land and building was lifted, but Moscow did not receive any explanation regarding the situation with the apartments.
“In case of refusal to resolve the current situation, the Russian side will be forced to take retaliatory measures,” the ministry said.
Earlier, Aki Virtanen, head of Finland’s debt collection department, announced the cancellation of the land seizure and the construction of the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Helsinki.
