Several countries evacuated their nationals by air, while others headed for Port Sudan on the Red Sea, about 800 km from Khartoum by land.
Here are the efforts of some of the countries carrying out evacuations from Sudan:
The Bucket
On Sunday, the second evacuation plane from Sudan arrived in the UAE, carrying 136 UAE passengers, diplomats and nationals of 9 countries.
On Saturday, around 128 people arrived in Abu Dhabi after being evacuated from Sudan, including Britons and Americans.
Saudi Arabia
The Saudi Foreign Ministry said on Sunday that the Kingdom had evacuated 5,197 people of 100 nationalities from Sudan, adding that this figure included 184 Saudi citizens.
United States
US forces evacuated the US and some foreign diplomats on April 22.
By Sunday, nearly a thousand Americans had left Sudan and another convoy had arrived in Port Sudan en route to Saudi Arabia.
Britain
Britain announced the evacuation of 2,197 people, mostly British nationals and their families, and organized an additional flight from Port Sudan on Monday, after announcing that its last evacuation flight from Sudan would have take place on Saturday due to lower demand. of British nationals and the instability of the situation on the ground.
The government estimated the number of Britons in Sudan at around four thousand and evacuated its diplomats and their families on April 22.
Cyprus also announced the activation of a humanitarian rescue mechanism, at the request of London, to allow other countries to use it to receive and return foreign citizens after their evacuation from Sudan, noting that Cyprus is home to two major British military bases.
Egypt
Cairo evacuated a total of 6,399 Egyptians, including 1,072 on Friday, and the Egyptian Foreign Ministry said on Thursday that some 16,000 people had crossed the border from Sudan into Egypt, including 14,000 Sudanese.
Germany
Germany said on Wednesday it had completed the evacuation process from Sudan, adding that more than 700 people had left the country by air, including about 200 German citizens.
The German evacuation mission brought people from more than 30 countries, including Belgian, British, Dutch, Jordanian and American citizens.
France
The French government announced on Thursday that it had evacuated 936 people from Sudan, including nationals of Britain, the United States, Canada, Ethiopia, the Netherlands, Italy and Sweden, as well as France.
The UN Secretary General thanked France for its “essential assistance” in transporting 400 employees of international organizations and their families out of Sudan.
Italy
Italian military planes that took off from Djibouti evacuated 83 Italians and 13 others, including children and the Italian ambassador.
According to Foreign Minister Antonio Taiani, some Italians working for NGOs decided to stay in Sudan, while 19 others were transferred to Egypt.
Holland
According to Foreign Minister Wupke Hoekstra, around 100 Dutch people have been evacuated from Sudan since April 23.
Half the number left for Jordan on four Dutch evacuation flights, which also carried around 70 people from 14 other countries.
Amsterdam is seeking to evacuate around 150 Dutch in total and has bolstered international efforts with two military planes also available for other nationalities.
Switzerland
Switzerland closed its embassy and evacuated all its Swiss employees and their families.
Russia
Russia has yet to announce an evacuation of its embassy staff or nationals from Khartoum, with Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov saying Russians in Sudan are in close contact with Moscow.
Japan
Prime Minister Fumio Kishida announced the evacuation of all Japanese who wished to leave.
China
China has confirmed that most of its citizens have been safely evacuated in groups to neighboring countries.
The Department of Defense deployed Navy ships on Wednesday to evacuate citizens.
According to the Foreign Ministry, around 800 people were transported by sea and more than 300 traveled by land to countries neighboring Sudan from Tuesday to Thursday.
India’s Minister of State for External Affairs V Muralidharan said more than 1,200 Indian evacuees from Sudan arrived in the Saudi city of Jeddah on Thursday and would soon be repatriated.
Canada
After the transfer of nearly 550 people, including about 400 Canadians and permanent residents, Canada ended evacuations on Sunday, knowing that about 230 Canadians are still seeking help in Sudan.
South Africa
South Africa said it transferred its 77 nationals from Sudan and 62 of them returned to the country on two flights over the weekend.
Chad
The International Organization for Migration said Friday that Chad had carried out its first two evacuation flights from Sudan carrying more than 200 people, including dozens of children.
Iran
Iran’s Foreign Ministry said on Saturday that 65 Iranian nationals had left Port Sudan for Iran.
