Endocrinologist Sofia Tsaturyan spoke about the normal level of glucose in the blood.
According to her, a glucose level of 4 to 5.6 mmol / l is considered normal. For accurate results, the test is performed in the morning on an empty stomach.
The endocrinologist notes that 5.6-6.1 mmol / l may indicate prediabetes, and readings above 6.1 mmol / l diagnose diabetes.
In pregnant women, a sugar level of 3.3 to 5.0 mmol/L is considered normal, but this can cause serious health problems for the fetus if not taken care of early.
A score of 5.2 or higher may indicate a woman has gestational diabetes, reports Lenta.ru .
