New Delhi. The implementation of FASTag system for toll collection in the country has proved to be successful with a steady growth. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has said that toll collection from FASTag has reached a record level of Rs 193.15 crore on 29 April. Went. 1.16 crore transactions took place in a day.
NHAI said in a statement on Tuesday that the central government had made FASTag mandatory in February 2021. Toll plazas under the FASTag program have increased from 770 to 1,228, including 339 state toll plazas. After effective use in toll collection, FASTag has facilitated the payment system in more than 140 parking lots in more than 50 cities of the country. Work is going on to finalize the works for implementation of Global Navigation Satellite System based (Toll) toll system across the country and for smooth toll system.
