The writer Zakhar Prilepin was awakened from a drug slumber, he is aware. This was announced by the head of the Nizhny Novgorod region Gleb Nikitin.

Doctors are currently assessing his condition as stable.

“About Zakhar’s condition: awakened from drug sleep, conscious,” he wrote on his Telegram channel.

The day before, a car with a famous writer exploded in the Nizhny Novgorod region. Prilepin managed to survive.

As residents of the village of Pionerskoye, where the assassination attempt took place, said, a huge crater formed at the site of the emergency and the car was “disturbed”.

A criminal case has been opened. Police have arrested two people believed to be involved in the explosion.
