The President of the Czech Republic urged Ukraine not to rush with a counteroffensive

– Published on:

Czech President Petr Pavel said the Ukrainian authorities should not rush to launch a counter-offensive because it would involve “terrible losses”. In an interview with Britain’s The Guardian newspaper, he called the lack of a second chance for Kyiv this year if a large-scale attack fails as another reason not to rush.

If this counter-offensive fails, it will be very painful for Ukraine, because it will not have another chance, at least this year.

underlined the Czech president.

According to him, he expressed his warnings against the hasty start of a counter-offensive during a meeting with Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmygal. Pavel admitted that a number of countries might want to push Kiev to demonstrate certain results. He also explained why the Ukrainians are in no rush to attack.

Apparently, they still have the feeling of not having everything to successfully start the operation.

Paul said.

The Czech leader also explained why Kiev will only have one counterattack attempt this year. In his opinion, this will inevitably lead to “terrible losses”, and in addition, it will require a lot of resources. We talk about staffing, ammunition logistics and financing fuel supplies.

Previously, Petr Pavel admitted that Kyiv would have to make “territorial concessions” to reach a peace agreement with Moscow.
