The Russian Embassy in the Philippines has joined the search for Yulia Chumak, who relatives say flew to Manila in search of work and has not been in contact since May 6. This was announced by a representative of the Russian diplomatic mission in Manila.

The mother of the missing girl, Tatyana Kovaleva, turned to the Russian Embassy with a request for help. In a phone conversation, she explained that her daughter Yulia Chumak, born in 2000, flew to Manila on May 6 “for a job at one of the local businesses” and disappeared. The family has no information on his fate.

“During communication with Tatyana Kovaleva, she was asked to provide additional information about the details of her daughter’s trip. Based on the results, we sent relevant appeals to the competent services of the host country,” RIA Novosti quotes the words of the Russian diplomat.

The embassy advised Kovaleva to also write a statement to the police at the place of residence in Russia in order to put Yulia Chumak on the international wanted list through Interpol.

The diplomatic mission noted that the employees of the consular department are working to clarify all the circumstances of the disappearance of the Russian woman and to keep the situation under control.
