State Duma confirms information about Lukashenko’s illness

– Published on:

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has really fallen ill, said Konstantin Zatulin, first deputy head of the State Duma committee for CIS affairs, and added that there was nothing serious about the illness.

“It’s not covid. The man just got sick. Despite the fact that the person got sick, he considered it his duty to come to Moscow, and then organized events in Minsk in the evening of the same day,” Zatulin told Podyom, but did not name the illness.

Previously, Alexander Lukashenko did not show up for the celebration of the Day of the Flag, Emblem and Anthem of the Republic, and Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko read a speech on his behalf.

A number of media drew attention to the fact that the Belarusian leader did not appear in public after taking part in the victory parade in Moscow. It was speculated that this was due to health issues. It was suggested that Lukashenka had the flu.
