Chasing the target of 189 runs in the match played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, the start of Hyderabad was again bad. However, after scoring a century, he did not stay at the crease for long. Gill played an inning of 101 runs off 58 balls. He was well supported by Sai Sudarshan, who played a fine innings of 47 runs. Apart from these two, no Gujarat batsman could reach double digits. Five batsmen of the team could not even open the account. Bhuvneshwar Kumar took five wickets for Hyderabad while Marco Jansson, Fazlah Farooqui and T. Natarajan got one wicket each.
