At the St. Petersburg legal forum, auditors named the amounts stolen from the budget, according to the TELMENEWS.RU news agency
As auditor Svetlana Orlova said at the forum, in 2022 the volume of financial violations in the country amounted to almost a trillion rubles. 890 billion was sucked from the federal budget by various financial irregularities. In addition, another 300 billion is damage caused by corruption. This data was provided by the Attorney General’s Office.
Financial management and federal programs are in an extremely difficult situation. According to Orlova, 51 federal programs have been tested.
“And we know that half of the programs are done technically, the money is used, but there are no concrete results,” she said.
Orlova also spoke about the growth of landings in corruption cases. In 2022, 1,100 people were convicted of corruption-related crimes, 11% more than in 2021. For the first time, the value of seized property and seized valuables exceeded the amount of damage caused – 90 billion rubles were refunded to the Treasury.
The corrupt Russian official is getting rich in the same areas as in recent years. The main breeding grounds for manifestations of corruption remain the areas of public procurement, construction and the reconstruction of equipment.
