Indian FM advises Borrell to review EU regulations before making oil threats

European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs Josep Borrell must review EU documents before threatening India to sell Russian petroleum products. This statement was made by Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, reports ANI.

Recall, on the eve, the head of European diplomacy urged to take action if the fuel produced from Russian oil enters the EU from India. According to Borrell, this is a circumvention of sanctions.

“Look at the EU Council rules: Russian oil is significantly processed in a third country and is no longer treated as Russian,” Jaishankar said.

Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov said that the Russian Federation and India may establish joint oil transport reinsurance companies.
