Heavy rains in northern Italy caused 14 rivers to overflow, flooding 23 towns. Authorities evacuated about 5,000 people from the flooded area. At least eight people have died and several others are missing. Among other things, Formula 1 organizers canceled the Grand Prix stop at Imola in Italy.
