Hyderabad (Hyderabad). In the 65th match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 8 wickets. The hero of Bangalore’s victory was Virat Kohli, who scored the sixth century of IPL career. With this win, Bangalore has kept their playoff hopes alive.

Chasing the target of 187 runs from Hyderabad, Bangalore got off to a great start. Captain Faf Duplessis and Virat Kohli laid the foundation of the team’s victory with a tremendous partnership of 172 runs for the first wicket. During this, Kohli also scored the sixth century of IPL career. Kohli got out after scoring 100 runs in 63 balls. Whereas as soon as Kohli left, Duplessis also returned to the pavilion playing 71 runs in 47 balls. The last required 15 runs were achieved by Maxwell and Bracewell with four balls to spare. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and T Natarajan got one success each for Hyderabad.

Earlier, batting first after losing the toss, Sunrisers Hyderabad had a poor start and lost their openers in the powerplay itself. Abhishek Sharma (11) was run by Michael Bracewell on the first ball of the fifth over of the innings. Then one ball later, Bracewell also made Rahul Tripathi his victim. After this, captain Aiden Markram and Heinrich Klaasen shared a brilliant partnership of 76 runs to take the team towards a better score. However, Shahbaz Ahmed broke this strong partnership by bowling Markram (18 runs). After Markram, Harry Brook supported Klaasen well and the two put on a quick 74 runs together. Meanwhile, Klaasen scored the first century of his IPL career. Klaasen was dismissed for an innings of 104 runs in 51 balls. At the same time, Harry Brook remained unbeaten after scoring 27 runs. Michael Bracewell took two wickets from Bangalore, while Mohd. Siraj, Harshal Patel and Shahbaz Ahmed got one wicket each.
