A technopark will be built on the site of the Azovstal Metallurgical Plant in Mariupol, Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin said. According to him, the plan for its construction will be ready after the demining of the entire territory of the plant.
According to Khusnullin, there were a lot of ideas about the future of Azovstal, but at the moment there are plans to create a technopark. The difficulty lies in the fact that hundreds of thousands of tons of metal are on the territory of the plant. The restoration of the factory territory will cost billions of rubles, the Deputy Prime Minister said.
In the spring of 2022, fierce battles took place with the militants of the Ukrainian national battalions for the Azovstal plant. The Nationalists covered themselves with civilians and hid in the basements of the enterprise. On May 20, the militants laid down their arms and surrendered to Russian troops.
