Recently China Media Group conducted an exclusive interview with International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach in Beijing. Paris will host the 2024 Olympic Games, its first since the pandemic. Bach said the world has great expectations from the Games and people are looking forward to coming together. The IOC is working to get the Olympic committees of all 206 countries and territories to participate in next year’s Paris Games. We not only wish athletes around the world to compete on the field, but we also hope that off the field, sports fans, families and friends come together to share the Olympic spirit.

As a long-term media partner of the International Olympic Committee, China Media Group will send more than 2000 employees to serve the Paris Olympics broadcast work, while 1400 people will participate in the Hangzhou Asian Games broadcast and reporting. Bach said the IOC is excited to cooperate with China Media Group, which has made great achievements during the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics. The International Olympic Committee is looking to cooperate with China Media Group to set a new Olympic broadcast record. China Media Group will be responsible for creating international public signals in four key events of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

Talking about the development of the Olympic legacy, Bach said that China has set a benchmark for future hosts. It is not just the use of venue facilities, we have seen these facilities being opened to the public. The economic legacy of the Olympic Games and the sports industry have been greatly promoted by involving the Chinese people in winter sports.

This year the Asian Games will be held in Hangzhou, the capital of East China’s Zhejiang province. The Asian Games have a special place in the Olympic Games. The Asian Games is the largest regional multi-sport event ever held. Asia represents the future. We have seen the strong growth of Asia and the love for sports among Asian youth. I am looking forward to the Hangzhou Asian Games and will participate in it.
