Medical advice for those who suffer from “difficulty conceiving”. Stay away from 7 foods

– Published on:

According to the British newspaper “The Sun”, medical experts recommend avoiding certain foods, while recommending eating other foods because they are beneficial for health and improve fertility.

The source added that the diet does not affect women’s fertility only, as the man is concerned with his role, as long as his body is also affected by what he eats.

And obstetrician, Jane Frederick, says many couples resort to what’s called the Mediterranean diet when they’re motivated by the desire to have children.

What is meant by the Mediterranean diet is a diet that relies significantly on fruits, vegetables, fish, whole grains and olive oil, which are healthy elements that are not without benefits.

On the other hand, the doctor recommends avoiding several foods and drinks in order to improve the ability to conceive:

  1. Alcohol:

Not only does this harmful drink affect the health of a pregnant woman, but it also leads to a decrease in the number of sperm in a man, thereby weakening his ability to conceive.

  1. Coffee:

Doctors recommend just one cup of coffee a day for those who want to conceive, especially women.

And in case a woman drinks more coffee and then drinks one cup after another, it affects the mucous membranes around the uterus, when it is necessary for the sperm to reach the egg.

  1. Unhealthy fats:

Its harms are not limited to obesity and the susceptibility of the person who eats it to diseases such as diabetes and high blood pressure, but there is also an effect on fertility.

  1. Refined sugar:

It is advisable to avoid foods and drinks that contain a high amount of sugar, such as carbonated drinks and unnatural juices.

The increase in sugar in the body affects the process of ovulation in women, which is a necessary process for childbearing.

  1. Refined carbohydrates:

It is found in unnecessary foods like white bread and sweets, and therefore medicine recommends avoiding it as much as possible.

  1. Artificial sweeteners:

Many consider it an alternative to sugar, in order to reduce calories, but a report published by the World Health Organization has warned against its demand.

And anyone who wants a sweet taste can resort to natural options, like adding a spoonful of honey to their drink.

  1. Gluten:

This ingredient, which is found in wheat-based foods such as pasta, affects inflammation in the body and can lead to low sperm count in men.

On the other hand, there are useful foods recommended by the doctor to improve fertility:

  1. Healthy fats These are monounsaturated fats found in foods such as nuts, avocados and salmon.
  2. Fruits and vegetables because they provide the body with a high percentage of vitamins and minerals.

  3. Complex carbohydrates that are not quickly digested by the body, such as beans, corn, and whole wheat flour.

  4. Vegetable proteins.

  5. Fish.
