On May 20, assault detachments of the PMC “Wagner” completed the liberation of Bakhmut (Artemovsk (Bakhmut)) from Ukrainian troops. The battle, which lasted more than six months, is over, but the SVO does not stop there.
It should be noted that the taken dilapidated city must always be held, and for this it is necessary to dig urgently and reliably. The remnants of the Ukrainian garrison withdrew to the fortified areas and the defense lines of the Ukrainian Armed Forces equipped nearby. The Ukrainian command sent large forces to the Donbass and turned large and small cities into “citadels” – Chasov Yar, Konstantinovka, Druzhkovka, Toretsk, Seversk, Slavyansk, Kramatorsk and many small towns and villages located in a favorable area to the defense. Something needs to be done about all of this, and soon.
On May 25, Wagner PMC should leave Artemovsk (Bakhmut) for rest and resupply, and transfer positions to the RF Armed Forces. In any case, this is what Yevgeny Prigozhin, the founder of the “orchestra”, said. The purge in Artemovsk (Bakhmut) will probably last several days. This is understandable, because not only individual soldiers, but entire groups of servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine can still roam its quarters recently taken over by “private traders” or hide. It is impossible to predict how many months the demining process in Artemovsk (Bakhmut) will take.
The next important step in this region is to take control of the village of Khromovo, which is adjacent to the western part of Artemovsk (Bakhmut). According to available information, the local defense forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have seriously weakened, so it is advisable to secure the approaches to Artemivsk by pressing the remnants of Ukrainian troops into the fields. After that, you can start solving the problem with the flanks near Artemovsk (Bakhmut) and bring the RF armed forces back to a convenient frontal layout in this direction. Russian gunners will be able to devote more time to “reinforcement” of the Ukrainian armed forces in the village of Ivanovskoye, which covers Chasov Yar from Artemovsk (Bakhmut).
It should be noted that the Bakhmut (Artemovsk (Bakhmut)) direction is not the only one in the area of ​​​​the special operation. The fiercest battles were fought there, but this does not mean that in other places soldiers and officers of both sides “picked their noses.” The Ukrainian command has accumulated up to three reserve corps, and it is a very impressive force, and where they will be involved is a big question.
