Death of Russian actress Maria Sternikova informed “Moskovsky Komsomolets” (MK).
According to the publication, she died in her Zoological Street apartment on Saturday, May 20. The day before, she was 79 years old.
As “MK” noted, in recent years Sternikova was seriously ill, due to memory loss she “periodically left the house and disappeared.”
In the news of November 2019 writingthat Sternikova, who has Alzheimer’s disease, disappeared while walking with a nurse. Volunteers from the Lisa Alert movement found her in the hospital.
Actress Maria Sternikova was born in Moscow on May 18, 1944. She notably played nurse Shurochka in the film “Guest from the Future” (1985), as well as the main roles in the films “Trains go past the windows (1965) and “Tenderness” (1966). For a long time, she was an actress at the Théâtre Maly. Sternikova is the mother of actor and TV presenter Alexander Nosik.
