We are a member of G20, and also of BRICS and SCO

There are two major forces in today’s world, that is, on the one hand the developed countries of the US and the West, etc., and on the other hand the emerging economies including BRICS and SCO. A common platform for both these forces is the G20. On the other hand, for China, India and Russia, we are all members of the G20, BRICS and Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, we will bear important responsibilities for the future of the world.

The United States has always considered itself the world leader, but its leadership in world affairs has been waning. America has become unable to solve the emerging crises here and there in the world. Meanwhile, 19 countries have recently submitted applications to join BRICS, including Egypt, Indonesia, Argentina and Saudi Arabia, which have long maintained close ties with the US. For example, Egypt is a country that buys a large amount of American weapons. And the training of the Egyptian army is also done according to the standards of the US military. On the other hand, Saudi Arabia, in addition to being armed with a large number of American weapons, has long been consistent with the US on Middle East issues. But these countries now want to handle international affairs jointly with China, India and Russia within the framework of BRICS. For example, Saudi Arabia and Iran resumed diplomatic relations under the mediation of China, which completely excluded US involvement. The growing sense of independence of the developing countries is extremely beneficial for world peace.

Today the role of BRICS countries in international affairs is becoming important. At present, the land area of the BRICS countries is 26.46% of the world’s total area, and its population accounts for 41.93% of the world’s total population. If BRICS expands its membership, the BRICS organization will become an organization with greater influence in terms of politics and economy than the G7 in the West. BRICS countries have always adhered to the values of strengthening multilateralism, promoting reform and promoting global economic growth and stability, which has a great influence in many countries around the world. According to the “Beijing Declaration” issued at the 14th BRICS Summit, the BRICS expansion process will be promoted through discussions. China will work with BRICS partners to strengthen cooperation with other emerging market countries and developing countries, and promote the process of BRICS expansion on the basis of consensus.

Apart from BRICS, several ministerial meetings were also held recently under the mechanism of SCO i.e. Shanghai Cooperation Organisation. These countries also have a wide influence in international political life. Even some think tanks have suggested that given the monopoly of the US and the West on the affairs of the UNO, a large number of developing countries cannot raise their voice, and the SCO should also be replaced by a global organization like the UN. Should be made as Which will promote the international system in a more just and fair direction on the basis of coordination and cooperation. The SCO would also be able to set up its own Security Council or even a peacekeeping force, working alongside the UN to deal with global challenges.

It can be predicted that BRICS and SCO will play an increasingly important role in the fields of international politics, security, economy and finance in the future. This would not only benefit the interests of developing members, but also have far-reaching implications for the long-term stability of the world. An official announcement on the expansion of membership is likely to take place at the BRICS summit to be held in South Africa in August this year. Since then the indicators of the BRICS countries will exceed those of the G7 members. For China, India and Russia, we are all members of the G20, BRICS and the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, we will play a more important role in international affairs.(Credits- China Media Group, Beijing)
