The national energy company Ukrenergo has announced the suspension of electricity exports from the country.
It is specified that such a decision is due to the need to cover Ukraine’s electricity needs. The country must also plan reserves for the “evening peak hours”. Currently, in general, there is temporarily no export or import of electricity.
It is also reported that power units of nuclear power plants are being repaired in Ukraine, for which summer is a traditional period of preparation for winter. Similar restoration work is underway in the power units of thermal power plants and thermal power plants, which are badly damaged.
“Ukrenergo repair crews are also actively working to restore the main high-voltage infrastructure,” the company’s Telegram channel said.
Ukrenergo also added that today there is enough electricity production in the country to cover the needs. However, the situation near the contact line remains difficult. Ordinary consumers are left without power amid the damage, but Ukrenergo crews are trying to quickly restore power.
Earlier it was reported that Ukraine does not want to stop the transit of energy resources from Russia through its territory, despite the conflict between the countries.
