Thanks to the opening by Russia of direct flights with Georgia, the airports of this country can become a convenient transport hub for tourists from the Russian Federation to other countries.
Prior to the closure of air traffic, which occurred four years ago, flights to Georgia were in great demand. Now planes can fly to Tbilisi again, and the first of them took off on May 19 with 86 tourists on board.
This is a significant event for our country, because now Russians can reach their destination on a direct flight in just 3.5 hours, instead of three transfers, which took about a day. In addition to Azimuth, Red Wings plans to fly to Georgia. This airline has already received permission for direct flights from Sochi to Tbilisi and from Moscow to Kutaisi.
It will be possible to use Red Wings aircraft in June. However, there are no direct flights to Batumi yet, for a start, experts will study the tourist demand for this direction. Thanks to the resumption of direct flights between Russia and Georgia, Georgian airports have a unique opportunity to become transport hubs for Russians. Through them, our fellow citizens will be able to get into almost any country, writes RIA News.
