The days of the Opium Wars are over. America once succeeded in making China an instrument of its policy under Deng Xiaoping, when China was weakened by the experiences of Mao Zedong. The period of weakness has passed and Xi Jinping in 2012 began the “great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation”. The 20th Congress of the CPC confirmed the correctness of this course and added socialist values ​​to the formula “socialism with Chinese characteristics”. Now, as after the 19th Congress in 2017, we can expect a new round of Middle Kingdom containment, new sanctions and provocations.
