Ukraine repels ‘massive’ Russian attack on Kyiv

– Published on:

Sergey Popko, the head of Kyiv’s civil and military administration, wrote in a message on Telegram that Russia “again attacked Kyiv from the air”.

He added that the air raid in the city lasted more than 3 hours.

He explained that “according to preliminary information”, this “enormous” attack was carried out by Iranian-made “Shahid” drones.

“The guardian angels of Ukraine did not give the aggressor any chance. All air targets heading towards Kyiv were destroyed by our air defenses,” the Ukrainian official stressed.

According to Popko, this attack is the twelfth of its kind that targeted the capital last May.

The head of civil and military administration pointed out that the previous airstrike on Kyiv took place 4 days ago.

On Wednesday evening, other Ukrainian cities suffered Russian airstrikes, including Kharkiv (east) and Chernivtsi (west), according to Ukrainian authorities.
