Noida. Noida police arrested seven people from Gijhor village for allegedly placing bets on the semi-final match between Indian Premier League (IPL) team Mumbai Indians and Lucknow Supergiants on Wednesday night. The police gave this information on Thursday.
Police Station Sector-24 recovered four lakh five thousand rupees in cash, four laptops, diaries, 15 mobile phones etc. from the arrested people. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone I) Harish Chander told that last night Mumbai Indians vs Lucknow Super The semi-final of the IPL match between the giants was going on.
Harish Chander said that Aditya son Surajbhan, Nitish Jain son Shashikant Jain, Abhinav son Devendra, Pandya son Sikandar, Indu Kumar son Ketu Mahato, Jai Dev Pandey son Prabhakar Pandey and Sachin Chauhan son Suraj Bhan were arrested for betting on this match. Police Station Sector 24 has arrested.
He told that during the investigation, it has come to know that these people were betting on cricket for a long time. According to police sources, the accused were allegedly gathering at the house of a former office bearer of Hindu Yuva Vahini and betting.
