On May 26, a 12,000-tonne offshore oil and gas platform – the center platform of the Bochang 19-6 gas field – was commissioned in Qingdao. There have been several technological innovations associated with the platform. Once put into use this year, it can provide stable and reliable clean energy and chemical products for the Beijing-Tianching-Hebei region and the Bohai Rim region.

It is reported that the center platform of Bochong 19-6 gas field is a multi-functional integrated offshore oil and gas platform, which can integrate production and life. The platform is 32 meters high, 65 meters long and 56 meters wide, with an approximate area the size of nine standard basketball courts. The platform includes a triethylene glycol absorption tower, production equipment such as a flash steam compressor, and a building that can accommodate up to 120 people. Its total weight is more than 12 thousand tons, which is equal to the weight of 10 thousand cars. It is worth mentioning that the Bochong 19-6 gas field is the first large-scale gas field of 1 trillion cubic meters in East China. Currently, geological reserves of natural gas exceed 2 trillion cubic meters.
