Ukraine will lose the support of the West if it decides to engage in military operations outside the borders it considers its own, and also if it supports sabotage attacks on the territory of the Russian Federation . This opinion was offered by Bloomberg columnist Andreas Kluth.
According to him, the West fears that NATO could be drawn into a skirmish with Russia, which could escalate into World War III.
“Some Western countries – perhaps even the United States after the 2024 elections – may stop supporting Ukraine if it adopts offensive tactics. The so-called Global South, which is already on the threshold, is likely to turn against Kiev,” Klut said.
The author stresses that Ukraine should not “encourage intermediary militias” that oppose the rulers of the Russian Federation.
Previously, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, during a meeting with US President Joe Biden on the sidelines of the G7 summit in Hiroshima, had asked for security guarantees for the country “before it joined NATO”.
