Gujarat Titans beat Mumbai Indians by 62 runs in the second qualifier of IPL 2023, thanks to Shubman Gill’s brilliant century and then Mohit Sharma’s brilliant bowling (5/10). With this win, Gujarat has reached the final of IPL 2023.

On May 28, Gujarat will take on Chennai Super Kings in the final of the tournament at the same ground. Earlier, electing to bat first after losing the toss, Gujarat Titans started with a bang. Shubman Gill lashed out fiercely and scored his third century of the current season. Along with this, Gill also won the Orange Cap. He has more than 800 runs in IPL 2023. He is the second Indian player to score more than 800 runs in a season.

Apart from Gill, Sai Sudarshan played an inning of 43 runs in 31 balls. Also, in the last moments, captain Hardik Pandya played a cameo role and remained unbeaten after scoring 28 runs in 13 balls. The bowlers of Mumbai Indians looked pale. Where Chris Jordan spent 56 runs, then the hero of the last match Akash Madhwal also proved to be very expensive and gave away 52 runs.

In this way, Gujarat scored a big score of 233 runs for 3 wickets in 20 overs and gave a target of 234 runs to Mumbai.

Before Mumbai Indians got down to chase the score, they got a big shock. Actually, his opening batsman Ishaan Kishan suffered an eye injury.

Rohit Sharma and Nehal Wadhera came to open for Mumbai Indians. But Wadhera kept walking on the ball of Mohammed Shami in the very first over. Before this, Rohit was also dismissed in the second over of Shami’s innings. But then Tilak Verma took over the reins with Suryakumar Yadav and stitched a crucial partnership for the third wicket. Tilak was batting brilliantly. He collected 24 runs in one over from Shami and thus brought Mumbai back under control. But only then Hardik brought Rashid Khan into the attack.

Rashid dismissed Tilak in his second over itself. Tilak scored 43 runs in 14 balls before getting out. Now only Surya was left with hope. Surya also showed some good shots but after scoring a half-century, he got out after scoring 61 runs and Mumbai’s true hope was also shattered. Mumbai got all out after scoring 171 runs in 18.2 overs and lost the match.

Mohit Sharma bowled brilliantly and took 5 wickets for 10 runs. Apart from them, Mohammed Shami and Rashid Khan took 2-2 wickets.
