Russia has not changed its approach to the issue of the use of nuclear weapons

– Published on:

The Russian Foreign Ministry has confirmed that Moscow’s position on the use of nuclear weapons remains unchanged. The corresponding publication was published on the official website of the department.

The Foreign Ministry clarified that with its message, the Russian side was responding to another attempt by the Japanese government, represented by Chief Cabinet Secretary Hirokazu Matsuno, to “accuse Russia of nuclear blackmail”.

Moscow has called “cynical and unscrupulous speculation” Tokyo’s willingness to attribute to Russia the intention to use nuclear arsenal in the context of the conflict in Ukraine.

“There has been no change in our approaches on this issue,” the Foreign Office said in a statement.

The agency also reacted to the new Japanese sanctions and promised not to let them go unanswered.
