Kuala Lumpur. Indian star badminton players PV Sindhu and HS Prannoy have entered the semi-finals of the Malaysia Masters 2023 Championship. These two players are now left in the tournament in the singles category from India, as Kidambi Srikanth has been eliminated from the tournament after losing to Indonesia’s Christian Edinata in the quarterfinals. Adinata defeated Srikanth 16-21, 21-16, 21-11.
Two-time Olympic medalist Sindhu defeated China’s Zhang Yi Man 21-16, 13-21, 22-20 in a thrilling encounter on Court 1 at the Axiata Arena in the Malaysian capital.
She will now face Indonesia’s Gregoria Mariska Tunjung, who is ranked 9th in the BWF World Rankings, in the semi-finals. Georgia defeated second seed Wang Zhi Yi of China 21-11, 21-14 in the women’s singles quarterfinal earlier in the day.
Meanwhile, in the men’s singles, Prannoy continued his impressive run at the BWF World Tour Super 500 event, defeating Japan’s Kenta Nishimoto 25-23, 18-21, 21-13 in the quarterfinals. He will face Indonesia’s Cristian Adinata in the semi-finals.
