New Delhi. The Indian women’s hockey team pulled off a thrilling 2-1 win against Australia ‘A’ in the fifth and final match of their tour in Adelaide on Saturday. (Thrilling 2-1 win). Navneet Kaur (10′) and Deep Grace Ekka (25′) scored for India, while Abigail Wilson (22′) scored the lone goal for Australia ‘A’.
After winning the previous encounter 3-2, Australia ‘A’ started with confidence as Gurjit Kaur, on the other hand, was alert in the Indian women’s hockey team’s defense and did not allow the opposition to enter inside the circle. Earning three quick penalty corners, India put pressure on the ‘Australia A’ defense and Navneet Kaur (10′) scored the first goal with a reverse hit to give India the lead.
Australia ‘A’ earned their first penalty corner midway through the second quarter, and Abigail Wilson (22′) scored with a dragflick to make it 1–1, however minutes later, Deep Grace Ekka ( 25′) put India in the lead again with his dragflick from the penalty corner. This was the score till the final whistle and in the end India won the match 2-1.
