Speaker of the House of Representatives Kevin McCarthy has confirmed the success of negotiations with US President Joe Biden to prevent a catastrophic default that threatened the US economy. McCarthy wrote about it on Twitter, reports 360.

“We’ve come to an agreement in principle,” McCarthy said.

He called the deal reached “worthy of the American people.” It is assumed that the approval of the amendments to the budget will take place in Congress on May 31.
