Bhopal. Ujjain (Ujjain). Several idols of Mahakal Lok (Shri Mahakal Lok) fell and were damaged in the heavy rain that accompanied the strong thunderstorm in Ujjain on Sunday evening. The Congress has targeted the state government for six idols damaged in the idols of Saptarishis installed here. Former Chief Minister and State Congress President Kamal Nath has tweeted and demanded to punish those who do shoddy construction. He has also constituted a committee to investigate the matter.

Kamal Nath has formed a seven-member committee, which will investigate the irregularities in the construction of Mahakal Lok. Sajjan Singh Verma, Ramlal Malviya, Dilip Gurjar, Shobha Ojha, Mahesh Parmar, Murli Morwal, KK Mishra are included in this team. After sending its report to the State Congress Committee, the seven leaders will hold a press conference and put it in front of the media.

serious irregularity was not foreseen

Kamal Nath said that when the then Congress government of Madhya Pradesh had taken a pledge to make a grand construction of the Mahakal temple complex in Ujjain. Then it was not imagined that the subsequent government would commit serious irregularities in the construction of Mahakal Lok. He said that the way the idols fell on the ground due to the storm in the Mahakal Lok complex today, that scene is a very pathetic scene for any religious person. I demand from the Chief Minister that the idols which have fallen in Mahakal Lok, new idols should be installed immediately and those who make shoddy constructions should be punished after investigation.

Statues fell, politics started

The state government is getting Shri Mahakal Mahalok constructed at a cost of about Rs 800 crore. In the first phase, works worth about Rs 400 crore have been done. The work of the second phase is in progress. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had inaugurated Mahalok on 11 October 2022. Since then, thousands of devotees from all over the country are reaching to see it everyday.

Complaints have reached Lokayukta

Many complaints regarding various works of Mahakal Mahalok had reached the Lokayukta. After the idols fell on Sunday evening, once again questions are being raised on the quality of construction. Congress leader and spokesperson KK Mishra has taunted the BJP by tweeting. Mishra has written that the storm of corruption has created havoc. No one will be saved from the scepter of Mahakal. Here, after the incident of idol falling, City Congress President Ravi Bhadauria and other local Congress leaders also reached Mahakal Mahalok and accused the state government of corruption.
