The dream life is gone in an instant – Loss of income, girlfriend and mental health

Benjamin Brown is a photographer and entrepreneur who was banned from all social media for criticizing stocks during the pandemic. He had over a million followers when the censorship started. Ben, who is the last person to be interviewed on Sölva Tryggvason’s podcast, says everything changed in his life when he had a motorcycle accident, which turned his life upside down.

“When I had a motorcycle accident, my life fell apart. I had become popular on social media and established good partnerships with cool companies and life was looking good. Lots of income , a lot of popularity and I was living the life of my dreams. But in one day it went fast when the accident happened. At first I didn’t realize how big the impact was going to be, but my body, which had also been my job, was out of commission and I lost my income and then I quickly declined I became very angry and ashamed and began to withdraw, isolate myself and to get stuck in addiction patterns. I think it’s very common for men to go that route instead of immediately asking for help and letting people in. Gradually I got stuck in a lot of depression and anxiety and it all went downhill quickly,” says Ben, adding that it took a long time to get back on his feet.

“I had more than one panic attack every day, the debts piled up and then a five-year relationship broke up all at once. I went through a long period where I could get out of bed and every day was extremely heavy and difficult. But at some point I realized that if I was going to come out of this period, I had to believe that I was destined for something new in life. I couldn’t be eternally bitter. about what was done and done. I started to believe that if I just kept going, doing my best and trusting my life, the rewards would come gradually. It turned out to be the case, although sometimes I found the process very slow. But with hard work and faith, I got to the point where I have never been happier in my life than I am today.”

popular again

After getting his guns back and relaunching his career, Ben had become hugely popular again and had over a million social media followers when he started speaking out about the pandemic, which led to him being censored. .

“After everything I’ve been through, I just know I’m supposed to be brave, so not saying what I think was never an option for me. But I soon found the censorship taking over The first things I said were taken out, then there were instructions on what I could say before I was punished, and after that came the shadow ban A phantom ban describes itself like a person who’s effectively gone underground. Instead of seeing over a hundred thousand people seeing what I put in an Instagram story, it suddenly dropped to 2-3 thousand overnight. Then the algorithms are set so that many, many fewer people see what you do. Two years later that’s still the case and the same thing happened on youtube. The pandemic has shown us how big companies and governments can start banning opinions and suppressing what they don’t like overnight. In my mind, that can’t happen in 2023.”

criticizes the authorities

Ben says he has always been critical of the authorities and never has it been more important than now to question government actions.

“There’s a lot going on in the world right now and it’s a great time to be alive. But at the same time, it’s never been more important to be brave and let go of the old conditioning of fear. that was created by the system, nurture and other things. Humanity as a species has never been so stuck in the head and more disconnected from the heart. We want to be able to sell ourselves that there is an absolute constant that we can rely on, instead of floating in the uncertainty that is always part of nature and life. To move forward, we must learn to let go of fear and start trusting our intuition. When ordinary people begin to bravely live their lives, it’s inevitable that everything will change. There are a lot of outdated systems at work, and it’s high time for change.”
