A new series of conflicts broke out in Kosovo. Against the background of aggravation in the region, the Serbian president is holding consultations with the ambassadors of several countries, including Russia and China. Representatives of the NATO bloc met in Belgrade. Aleksandar Vucic calls on the West to influence Pristina. One of the demands is the withdrawal of Kosovar special forces from the north of the region.

In an urgent address to the nation, VuÄŤić said the republic’s troops were already deployed where they were needed. According to him, they will not allow attacks against the Serbian people.

“Everything is organized by Albin Kurti, with his great desire for a conflict between the Serbs and NATO, and he is solely responsible for what is happening, washes his hands like Pilate and says that it is nothing to do with him,” says VuÄŤić.

The reason for the protests was the election results in several municipalities, where mainly ethnic Serbs live. They refused to participate in the vote. Consequently, the participation rate was only 3.5%. However, the elections were declared valid.

The fact that the crisis could have been avoided is also told in the Russian Foreign Ministry. But instead of compromising, NATO peacekeepers themselves became a source of violence.

“We call on the West to finally silence its false propaganda, to stop blaming the incidents in Kosovo on the desperate Serbs who are peacefully trying, unarmed, to defend their rights and freedoms,” the door said. -spokesman of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria. Zakharova.

Vucic, during a conversation with the Russian Ambassador, thanked Moscow for supporting Serbia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty. Our diplomat added that the NATO contingent in Kosovo openly sided with Pristina, assisting the Albanian police in the confrontation. Blue Helmets are also supported in Brussels.

“We, as the EU, express our strong support for NATO’s KFOR contingent in carrying out its duties in the interests of peace and stability in Kosovo,” said Josep Borrell, Chief of European Union diplomacy.

Separate steps began to demonstrate Washington. The US ambassador in Pristina said Kosovo’s withdrawal from large-scale NATO military exercises is the first consequence for Pristina, which has rejected US calls to abandon escalation in the north of the province.

“We hope Prime Minister Kurti will heed our advice and take immediate action to reduce tensions in the north,” Jeffrey Hovenier said.

Experts also speak of the West as a puppeteer in the situation with Kosovo. A researcher at the Institute of European Studies in Belgrade, Stevan Gajic, is convinced that for a peaceful outcome to the conflict, the United States must force Kurti to take a step back, as well as to organize repeated elections in northern Kosovo and withdraw Albanian special forces to their permanent deployment.

It should be remembered that the day before, KFOR forces attacked Serbs who were demonstrating peacefully. More than 50 people were injured in the clashes, three of them seriously injured. Journalists also needed help.
