Surrogate cider poisoning death toll rises to 18. 16 people died in Ulyanovsk region writing Governor of the region Aleksey Russkikh in his telegram channel. In the Samara region, two died, reported formerly Rospotrebnadzor Regional Department.

The regional Ministry of Health has sent special instructions to paramedics in case of detection of poisoned patients. Therapeutic reserve, hemodialysis and resuscitation beds have been created in regional hospitals. All relatives of the dead and injured will receive material and psychological assistance, assured the governor of Ulyanovsk.

“According to our information, a minor girl was among the victims. Law enforcement will have to find out how she acquired an alcoholic drink,” Russkikh said.

He also said he sent a proposal to the heads of municipalities “that the popular brigades, at the invitation of the public and the employees of the Ministry of the Interior, carry out preventive raids on all the points of sale of alcohol, starting by the so-called “pour”. The fact that among the victims of alcohol poisoning is a 16-year-old girl has already been reported by the telegram channel Shot.

The head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova instructed regional departments to identify and seize the drink “Mr. Cider”, which, according to preliminary data, caused poisoning. “Take steps to identify products manufactured by Andi LLC (cider producer. – Environ Russian media) and conduct research on these products,” the department’s document reads (quote from CASS ).

In the Samara region, the police stopped a truck with 810 liters of cider, according to MVD Media. Traffic police officers stopped the truck 23 km from the Moscow highway. The driver was a man born in 1970.

“The police found a consignment note for the receipt of 18,000 liters of alcoholic beverages under the brand “Mr. Cider”, cans with plastic kegs bearing the same marking with a total volume of 810 liters”, the report states.

The police went to the address of the warehouse indicated in the documents.

Formerly MIA reported that in Ulyanovsk the police seized 193 barrels of the drink “Mr. Cider” with a volume of 30 liters each. Investigative authorities of the Ulyanovsk and Samara regions initiated criminal proceedings under Part 3 of Art. 238 of the Criminal Code (provision of services that do not meet safety requirements, which negligently caused the death of two or more persons). An entrepreneur from the Samara region, responsible for the production of “Mr. Sidra”, was arrested.
