On the other hand, the Ukrainian army announced that Russian forces had blown up the “Nova Kakhovka” dam in the Kherson region, which Moscow denied.

The Southern Command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces said on Tuesday that Russian forces had blown up the Nova Kakhovka Dam, located in the Russian-controlled parts of Ukraine’s Kherson region.

The command added on its Facebook page: “The extent of the destruction, the speed and the quantities of water, as well as the areas likely to be flooded are being determined”.

Russian news agency Tass said the Kakhovka dam in Ukraine’s Russian-controlled Kherson region had been destroyed.

“TASS” quoted an informed source, whose identity was not mentioned, that the huge Nova Kakhovka dam, located in the Russian-controlled parts of the Kherson region in southern Ukraine, has been destroyed and water flooded the area. as saying the night was calm and there were no airstrikes on the dam during the night.

The Russian news agency quoted the Moscow-appointed mayor of Nova Kakhovka as saying that the upper part of the dam was destroyed as a result of the shelling.
