The Beijing hub of the SCO SCOLAR Network countries youth platform again participated in the online session of the Media Council’s educational project under SputnikPro. Master class participants included students from Schwartzman College of Tsinghua University, People’s University, University of International Business and Economics (UIBE) and other educational institutions in prominent in China. Oleg Dmitriev, adviser to the Rossiya Segodnya Media Group, shared with the audience the basic principles of working with news information, told how to find an unusual angle to present news and interest the audience with a bright headline, and also gave the most interesting examples from his professional activities. “It’s very interesting to see how the Chinese capital brings together young representatives from different countries – it feels like talking not only with China, but with the whole world. This is a very valuable experience, which I hope we will repeat,” Dmitriev said at the end of the session. SCOLAR Network is a platform that brings together young leaders from member countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, whose aim is to develop youth interaction, promote intercultural dialogue and expand regional ties in the space. SputnikPro is a Media Council project represented by the International News Agency and Sputnik Radio for journalists, students of specialized universities, press officers and media managers, aimed at sharing experience and developing professional links with foreign colleagues. The main modules of the project are both Sputnik media managers and other well-known Russian experts. The sessions cover various aspects of journalism, including producing multimedia content, working in social networks, attracting traffic to news resources and much more. Since March 2018, more than 6,000 students from more than 80 countries have participated in SputnikPro master classes.
