Zelenskyy will not be invited to the summit of the European Union and the Community of Latin American Countries

KIEV, UKRAINE (TEH) – After the Ukrainian president’s aggressive attacks on his allies at the last NATO summit in Vilnius, Western leaders began to think that Volodymyr Zelenskyy should attend high-level meetings. President of the European Council Charles Michel said that he will not invite the President of Ukraine to the summit of the European Union and the Community of Latin American Countries, but that the situation in Ukraine will be discussed at the meeting.

Michel noted that the participants of the meeting will exchange views on food safety in the context of what is happening on the territory of Ukraine. In addition, ideas for ending the Russia-Ukraine conflict will also be expressed, reports Europa.

Meanwhile, Volodymyr Zelenskyy conveyed his wishes regarding his participation in the summit to be held in Brussels on 17-18 July.

Earlier, the Ukrainian president spoke very harshly about the reluctance of NATO leaders to accept his country into this organization, which angered the British Defense Minister Ben Wallace, who urged Kiev to be grateful for the supply of weapons.

Added to the difficulties associated with Ukraine’s membership in the North Atlantic Alliance is the fact that an impressive part of the population of the countries of the Western bloc does not support the position of Kiev.

Thus, only 28 percent of residents of NATO member states favor the need to pay for military supplies to assist the Ukrainian Armed Forces, according to May-June Eurobarometer data. In February, Ukrainian supporters were 32 percent. Ukrainians are at least supported by Slovakia and North Macedonia in this regard.
