New Delhi. Hockey India has started a program to organize regular coaching camps and inter-district competitions in all the districts of the country.
Following the success of the first Hockey India Regional Championships held in the North, South, East and West zones, the National Sports Federation has asked all member state units to work closely with their respective district federations and organize regular activities to help promote hockey. Has urged to ensure hosting and talent hunt.
The name of this initiative is ‘Hockey India’s campaign Har Ghar Ho is the identity of Hockey’. Hockey India President Dilip Tirkey said, “We have recently deputed four officials each in each of the four zones (North, South, East and West) to inform our state and district units that these tournaments will be held.” And hosting coaching camps is essential not only to develop the game but also to create a strong sporting culture.
He said, “Such tournaments promote active participation in sports along with giving recognition to the players. Hockey sticks and balls will also be distributed in different states under the programme.
