Jordan: The Secretary-General of the Jordanian Ifta Department, Dr. Ahmed Al-Hassanat, announced that the sighting of the crescent of the blessed month of Ramadan for the current year will take place after sunset on Wednesday, indicating that the Ifta Directorates receive witnesses who saw the crescent with the naked eye.

Expectations that the first day of the holy month will be Thursday The Qatari Calendar House clarified the cases in which it is impossible to see the crescent of the holy month, as it is astronomically expected that the blessed month of Ramadan for this year 2023 will begin on Thursday, March 23. The Qatari calendar said that the cases in which it is impossible to see the crescent are: – The birth of the crescent after sunset on the day of investigation. – That the time of sunset of the crescent be before sunset on the day of the investigation. – When the sun sets as an eclipse, that is, when the sun sets at the time of the occurrence of the solar eclipse. According to the accurate astronomical calculations conducted by the specialists of the Qatari Calendar House, Thursday, corresponding to March 23, is the beginning of the blessed month of Ramadan for the year 1444 AH astronomically, and that Wednesday, March 22, is the completion of the month of Sha`ban for this year, God willing.


In Saudi Arabia, astronomical calculations suggest that the first day of the blessed month of Ramadan in Saudi Arabia will be on Thursday, March 23, 2023.
