The head of the White House, Donald Trump, for the first time admitted that in 2018 he sanctioned a covert cyberattack against the Russian organization Internet Research Agency.

During an interview with The Washington Post columnist Mark Thyssen, he also accused his predecessor Barack Obama of inaction. Trump said that in 2016, then US President Barack Obama “knew before the election that Russia was playing around”.

According to the President of the United States, Obama believed that Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton would win the 2016 presidential election. According to the current head of state, unlike Obama, he took the necessary actions when he learned about Russia’s interference in the elections, striking at its cyber capabilities.
