HEADLINES

  • JKLF banned in India.
  • JKLF held responsible for the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits.
  • PM Modi wished PM Imran Khan on Pakistan Day.
  • The mood of intellectuals in India.

Yaseen Malik, with a militancy background, is leading JKLF in the region. JKLF is founded by a Pakistani national Amanullah Khan. Khan is a pro-separatist politician. Amanullah Khan in 1962 started writing Voice of Kashmir magazine. After huge pressure from the government in India led by Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, the magazine was shut down. But, Amanullah restarted the magazine from England in 1976.

Amanullah always lobbied for JKLF in different parts of the world. Amanullah gained huge support from different sects in different countries who support Kashmir’s separation.

It is to be noted that people from Pakistan support the separation of Kashmir

JKLF believes in the complete independence of Kashmir as it is stood on 14th August 1947. The Indian Kashmir and Pakistan occupied Kashmir are to be united and liberated from both the nations, this is what they tend to achieve.

Yaseen Malik, present head of JKLF, is a former militant. Malik is involved in many anti-India activities including the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits and attacking army personnel.

The exodus of Kashmir Pandits

Kashmiri Pandits were forced to leave their native place in the late 1980s. This was a militant sponsored exodus of Hindu majority in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. Since then thousands of Kashmiri Pandits are waiting for any elected government to play a role in their favor.

BJP’s failed politics

Modi led BJP government promised Kashmiri Pandits to re-establish them in Kashmir valley. But somehow right after the political victory, this matter went nowhere and Kashmiri Pandits were fooled. Now again at the time of Loksabha elections in India, the Modi led BJP is provocating the matter to win the votes. The hypocrisy of BJP has marginalized the hopes of Kashmir Pandits.

The Pakistan Day

23rd March is celebrated in Pakistan as the Pakistan day. This is the day when the resolution of Pakistan was presented before independence by All India Muslim League in Lahore in 1940.

Pakistan Day 2019

On the occasion of Pakistan day, JKLF leaders were invited in the high commission of Pakistan in New Delhi for the celebrations. The BJP government didn’t like the invite and they instated the ban on JKLF. But on the other hand, Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself wished Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan on Pakistan day; again a hypocritical move by Prime Minister Modi led BJP government in India.

The response of Mahbooba Mufti; a BJP ally

Mahbooba Mufti who is the present chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir seriously condemned the act of central government to ban the JKLF.

  • Why Mahbooba is supporting Yaseen Malik?
  • Why BJP is in alliance with Mahbooba Mufti Government in Jammu and Kashmir?
