Coronavirus in US – Biden said that Trump was afraid of American panic

– Published on:

During his speech to  voters in Philadelphia, Joe Biden called President Donald Trump’s “panic” response to the coronavirus pandemic.

He accused the Republican president of hiding the danger of a virus that has killed more than 216,000 people in the United States.

“He (Trump) said that he did not report the coronavirus because he was afraid of American panic. But Americans don’t panic. He panicked,” Biden said.

Trump, in turn, tried to explain his reaction, as well as the organization of the Rose Garden event at the White House at the height of the pandemic, in which few were masked and kept their distance, which led to the infection of many participants with the coronavirus. During a meeting with voters organized by NBC, he said that he could not sit in the basement.

“Hi, I’m the president – I have to see people, I can’t be in the basement,” Trump said in front of an open audience in Miami.

Trump also said that he forgot whether he took the COVID-19 test ahead of the first presidential debate and dodged questions about New York Times investigation, as a result, it turned out that he did not pay federal income taxes for many years before becoming president of the United States.

The day before The Guardian poll showed that Biden is 17% ahead of Trump. Then a WSJ poll showed Biden’s lead of 11 percent.

It’s worth noting that Biden has better ratings ahead of the election than any presidential contender since 1936.
