The verdict was handed down by Judge Vera Akimova.
Navalny was accused of slandering Artemenko in connection with his participation in the recording of a video in support of the amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation.
The Russian blogger, who claims innocence, has the right to appeal the verdict within 10 days.
Alexei Navalny is in prison, where he is serving a sentence for violating parole. Earlier today, the court rejected his appeal against the earlier verdict.

Russian Justice Minister Konstantin Chuichenko dismissed the call as “illegal” and accused the European Court of Human Rights of meddling in the Russian judicial system. The Russian court said that the Russian opposition will have to pay a fine .
“This request is unfounded and illegal because it does not contain any reference to any fact or legal norm, which would enable the court to make such a decision,” Cucenko said in response to the European Court’s call to release Alexei Navalny which provoked protests all across the nation.
