Today, Sunday, the Anatolia News Agency, quoting Sudanese media, reported that a large number of prisoners escaped from a prison. “Cooper” north of the Sudanese capital, Khartoum, among them the ousted President Omar al-Bashir.

Videos on social media documented the release of prisoners from the prison known as the oldest and most famous in Sudan and the maximum security in the country.. while the videos showed the prisoners walking in the streets of Kober area and wearing prison uniforms.

It was named Cooper in relation to the English General Cooper who took over the prison administration. 5- Since the establishment of the prison, it was affiliated with the federal government, and during the British era, the prison director was known as Al-Hakamdar, and after independence, the first Sudanese director, Al-Hakamdar, Mustafa Saeed, took over the management of the prison in the period from 1935 to 1954, then the name of Al-Hakamdar was changed to the dean of the prison.
