Former Prime Minister Boris Johnson has once again apologized in the Partygate case in Britain.

This time he has apologized for “inadvertently misleading” the British Parliament on parties breaking the COVID law in Downing Street as a prime minister. Johnson was questioned for hours by the House of Commons Privileges Committee.

The committee was probing whether he had deliberately misled Parliament on the Partygate scandal which flouted lockdown rules.

Boris apologizes over Partygate scandal

Former Prime Minister Boris Johnson told the committee that I apologize for inadvertently misleading this House, but to say that I did it carelessly or deliberately is completely untrue. He clarified the issue of partying at his residence during the Corona lockdown.

He said that ‘I accept that social distancing was not followed properly, but that does not mean that what we were doing was inconsistent with the guidance.

“I say with my hand on my heart, I have not lied to the House”

Even during the questioning by the Committee of Privileges, Boris Johnson had apologized and clarified.

While he was speaking in the House, he has accepted his mistake by holding the Bible in his hand.

He said, ‘I say with my hand on my heart, I have not lied to the House.’ He further stated that he was completely transparent with the House of Commons at all times.

Boris Johnson clarified

Boris Johnson said that officers of government departments should be proud that they saved the country from Covid.

Johnson stressed that if anyone thought they were partying during the lockdown, they are completely wrong. He said that it was not a party or a social event. He himself was present for a maximum of 25 minutes.

What is Partygate scam?

In view of the increasing outbreak of Coronavirus in Britain, a complete lockdown was imposed. Meanwhile, Boris Johnson’s 56th birthday was celebrated during the lockdown.

At the same time, no party or any kind of event was allowed during the restrictions imposed in the Corona lockdown. More than two people could not participate in any program at one place. But still about 30 people participated in this program. This incident is known as the Partygate scam.
