“BRICS” and “SCO” should have a stronger voice

– Published on:

Recently, the G7 summit was held in Hiroshima, Japan. But on the world stage, the G7 does not represent the wider international community, while the “BRICS” and the “SCO” ie the Shanghai Cooperation Organization should raise a stronger voice to promote the establishment of a just international order. All G7 members are the most developed economies and have a huge influence on the world economy. The themes of their summit should focus on international economic, financial and trade issues. International affairs should be settled through consultation by all countries, and the future of the world should be controlled by different countries. But the G7 is a “club of the rich” that cannot represent developing countries. Under the guise of ideology and moral values, the G7 advocates “decoupling” and “de-risking”, and sets up its own small grouping against a specific country, which harms the stability, unity and development of the international community.

No group should harm the interests of the majority of countries in the international community. On the other hand, many summits of G7 have been organized, but this has not given a boost to the economy of any developing country. Decades later, the G7 is still developed countries, and developing countries are still underdeveloped. At the same time, the members of the G7 put diplomatic and economic pressure against other countries and even made military intervention. In contrast, the BRICS and SCO member states, including China, are practicing genuine multilateralism, actively promoting the development of global governance in a more just and reasonable direction, and building world peace, stability, development, prosperity and community. Contributing to

“BRICS” and “SCO” have always tried to do international cooperation. Currently, BRICS countries account for about a quarter of the world’s total economic output, about 42% of the world population, 18% of world merchandise trade and 50% of world economic growth. In 2021, BRICS countries are projected to achieve an economic growth rate of 7.6%, much higher than the world average of 5.5%. Now the BRICS members have the largest population and the strongest industrial production capacity in the world. If the BRICS membership expansion is successful during this year’s BRICS summit, then the BRICS plus SCO will have the largest population, economy, size and resource reserves in the world.

The international community should not be a unipolar world. On the other hand, BRICS and SCO have tried to push the world into a multi-polar world of win-win cooperation based on broad solidarity with developing countries. Recently, 19 countries have proposed to join the BRICS cooperation mechanism, which shows that the influence and attractiveness of “BRICS” is increasing. Under the present background of centuries of changes, the efforts of emerging powers to promote the international order in a more just and reasonable direction are justified, while the US and the West’s attempts to continue to monopolize world authority are inconsistent with the historical trend. The birth of the BRICS cooperation mechanism is in line with the general trend of the collective rise of developing countries and emerging economies. BRICS countries need to further enhance their voices in the global governance system, and also to make up for the “lack of rights” of developing countries in the international system and to promote the establishment of a just international order with a stronger voice Is.
