Chennai reached the final for the 10th time, defeated Gujarat by 15 runs in the first qualifier

Chennai (Chennai). In the first qualifier match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) defeated Gujarat Titans by 15 runs (defeated 15 runs). With this win, CSK reached the IPL final for a record 10th time (IPL final for a record 10th time).

Chasing the target of 173 runs from Chennai, Gujarat got off to a bad start. At one end Shubman Gill kept on scoring runs and at the other end wickets kept falling at regular intervals. Meanwhile, due to increasing pressure, Gill was also dismissed after scoring 42 runs in the process of hitting a big shot. Apart from him, Rashid Khan scored 30 runs, Dasun Shanaka scored 17, Vijay Shankar scored 14 and Wriddhiman Saha scored 12 runs. Captain Hardik Pandya eight, Mohammed Shami five, David Miller four and Rahul Tewatia were dismissed after scoring three runs. Deepak Chahar, Mahish Teekshana, Ravindra Jadeja and Mathisha Pathirana took two wickets each for Chennai, while Tushar Deshpande got a breakthrough.

Earlier, batting after losing the toss, the Chennai team scored 172 runs for 7 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Chennai Super Kings openers Rituraj Gaikwad and Dwayne Conway added 87 runs in 10.3 overs for the first wicket, but after the dismissal of both the openers, batsmen like Shivam Dubey and Ajinkya Rahane returned cheaply. Gaikwad scored 60 runs, Conway scored 40 runs, Ravindra Jadeja scored 22 runs, Ajinkya Rahane and Ambati Rayudu scored 17-17 runs for the team. For Gujarat Shami and Mohit Sharma took two wickets each, while Darshan Nalkande, Rashid Khan and Noor Ahmed took one wicket each.
